Coyotes are one of the three members of the dog family in the Yukon. Coyote is also known as the American jackal, brush wolf , or prairie wolf. The species are widespread through North and Central America, from Panama in the south, through Mexico and north into Canada. Males are about 120cm (4 feet long) ,with a long bushy tail and weigh about 15kg (40lbs). Their coats are flecked grey brown with a gingery face and patches on its legs. They have a narrow fox like face and pointed ears.
