May 3rd, 2018 in Camping in the Yukon

Visit Our Full Service RV Park

With the warmer weather approaching, most of us are now making plans to vacation in stunning locations so that we can enjoy the great outdoors. Now is the best time to plan a long weekend in May. What are your plans? If you want to get away from it all, then Discovery Yukon Lodgings is your perfect choice.

The Yukon offers numerous enjoyable activities. If you plan on travelling with your RV, then you can take advantage of our full hook up, pull thru sites. There are places for big rigs and groups with 20 & 30 amp power available to all vehicles. Showers and laundry services are also available and there is free WiFi in the main building.

Facilities

For those of you who like to visit without the use of a recreational vehicle, Discovery Yukon Lodgings also offers for rent, rustic cosy log cabins. Our newly renovated cabins all come equipped with a private bathroom, a deck with barbeque for enjoying a meal or just relaxing and enjoying the great view of the mountains.

There is also the option of staying in one of our Queen Suites, which have the same amenities as our log cabins, but provides more space when travelling with a family. Be sure to review all of the facility options provided by Discovery Yukon Lodgings on our website. Whether it be staying in one of our rooms or “roughing it” in your own tent, we have something for every type of camper wanting to enjoy this natural oasis along the Alaska Highway.

What are the main activities to enjoy in and around our Yukon lodging areas?

Hiking and mountain biking

If you love hiking or biking in the mountains, the Yukon will not disappoint. People come from all over the world to enjoy the pristine Yukon wilderness, hiking the nearby trails. The terrain is also perfect for mountain biking.

Friendly atmosphere

All residents of the campground can enjoy the nightly communal camp fire. Here you can share stories and experiences from your Yukon adventure. This is also a great chance to find out about more activities that can be enjoyed, where other visitors have spotted wildlife, and what highlights are most popular at this time of year. Wind down at the end of the day and swap stories with fellow campers at the communal fire pit.

Historic displays

The area has a rich history, with a display of historic vehicles dating back to the construction of the Alaska Highway.

Our campgrpund is close to several rivers and lakes making it perfect fishing destination.  You can catch trout, grayling, pike and white fish. If you don't have your own equipment Discovery Yukon Lodgings has equipment available for hire.  Whatever your plans are for the long weekend this May, be sure and plan a trip up the Alaska Highway, and spend some time with us at Discovery Yukon Lodgings.

We look forward to meeting you.
